I recently installed Kubuntu 18.04 and I don't want the Application launcher to show me links from by browser bookmarks.
Maybe I am old fashioned, but when I search for an application I expect to get a list of applications, not a list that I have to mentally filter afterwards. I find that these super general search boxes slow me down. In Settings -> Search -> Plasma search I can turn off the Bookmarks search provider and Krunner stops showing me bookmarks. The Application Launcher still shows me bookmarks. So how can I turn off bookmark searching in the app launcher? Would it not make sense to allow separate customisation of the search providers in the app launcher and in krunner? Maybe the description in the settings app could explain what will be affected by changing the "plasma search" settings. |
