Basically copying the abilities of ksnip and flameshot would work to make spectacle a great tool.

After screenshot is taken ability to draw this items on the image would be great.

Boxes
Circles
Highlighter(not hand drawn like knsip) - Flameshot has best implementation of highlighting it draws in straight lines.
Boxes to blank out items
Fuzzer so you can obscure sensitive data
Color choice for these items.
