Hello everybody out there,

I really like KDE (Kubuntu) and that's why I'm also using it for presentations. So the problem is that sometimes there are notifications during the presentation or the screensaver starts, maybe the power management enters the energy saving mode. That's a big problem in my opinion and I already hat problems during talks with that.

So my suggestion would be to let users easily enable and disable a presentation mode where all the things listed above are disabled. I also know that it would require many KDE components to be modified but in the end it should not be so complicated (but still lot of work) because by providing a function in KDE libraries allowing programs to ask what mode the desktop is currently in the problem should be nearly solved. Then programs could "decide" whether to display notifications, enable the screensaver and so on.

What's your opinion?
