The icons-only task manager seems to have been inspired by MS’s equivalent, with some new and improved functionalities and options, but there are some features that the MS one offers that make it a lot easier to work with a lot of windows opened compared to KDEs, namely:
* Clicking on an icon with several opened windows offers a pop-up in which the windows are shown (in the order in which they were opened) and can be closed by middle-clicking them, while middle clicking the application icon will launch a new instance – in contrast, in KDE it’s only possible to have the middle click do one and the same thing in both scenarios (be it using the ‘present windows’ effect, the list pop-up when disabling it, or the pop-up when hovering the mouse over it). * Right-clicking an icon gets a pop-up menu which is itself right clickable with options, whereas KDE’s right-click pop-up takes right clicks as left clicks. * This same pop-up menu offers the ability to delete files from the list of recently used with, which aids a lot when looking for recently opened files with the same application. Would be nice if KDE could also adopt these features. |
