fixation of comments' positions

Thu Jan 31, 2019 9:48 am
If I have a line of code like
Code: Select all
if(2 > 1) print("two is bigger than one);"      // If I change 'two' in '2' and 'one' in '1' this comment moves

Sometimes you have to change code and this often results in a change of lenght. This also tends to move the comment back or forth. When this comment was outlined to a prefered position this is an inconvenience.

My Idea is to have tabs automatically added or removed between the end of line marker and the comment signs so the comment stays in place when the code before it, is lengthened or shortened.

This is an alternative/addition to my other topic which is about the automatical outlining of comments to a prefered position.

It sounds like what you want is something like http://nickgravgaard.com/elastic-tabstops/
