I'm using NFS shared mounted with Dolphin file manager.
When i'm deleting files on the network, then usually files are deleted instantly. With Dolphin the files are moved to the recycle bin on default. But not the network trash folder, but they are copied to the client machine and then placed into the local recycle bin. This is very annoying, because when i delete a 4GB file the delete process visualisation is freezed for about 40 seconds (100MB/s x 40s = 4GB). On slow connections this can take several minutes for a single file and block network bandwith. It's simply stupid. There is the possiblity to delete the files directly with Shift+Del, but this is uncool, because i have to be aware of where the file is stored and what happens when i forget it. I like failure-proof systems. You can't start a microwave oven with door open, so please do only delete network files without active recycle bin on network by default (or as option). This is standard on other file managers and smb-mounts afaik. Dolphin feature request: [X] Do not move files on the network to the recycle bin locally. Thanks for support, pappl |
