A new look for the file explorer would be very welcome, with much more organization, neutral colors, possibility to add tags in the files (colors) to mark priority, to play a preview of videos by hovering the cursor over

Please describe the changes you would make to KDE's Dolphin file manager. I would assume that many if not all of the changes you propose may already be available with the right tweaking.

Concept looks much more like GNOME app than KDE one. And I don't see how it could be achieved without sacrificing functionality.

i'm sorry but dolphin is pretty much perfect the way it is. the only changes i would make are:

return the ability to root dolphin without having to create a specialized shortcut like i did(we are suppose to be getting this back with a upcoming dolphin update).
ability to pin files and folders to the top of a particular folder.
add accessing computer in dolphin like you can in most file managers
