It would be really cool for the KDE team to implement a Screen Capture Utility that could edit the image, have text markup options, etc., similar to Deepin Screenshot.
These small implementations make all the difference in everyday life. 8) ;) ;D

You know, that you need only two clicks in Spctacle to open the screen shot in the application of you choice, where you can do the all asked image editing ?

I'm talking about editing directly from Spectacle, how to mark the text, add emojions, write, edit similar to other existing software, I cited Deepin Screenshot as an example, look at its operation and you will see what I mean.

i personally like kolourpaint. i see no reason not to be able to set it as the default screen capture program. if any devs have instructions for switching programs the info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I know that :) I just wanted to metion, that you are two clicks away from opening your taken screen shot in a full futured image editing software (Krita, Gimp, KolourPaint, ...). Does that make sense to duplicate functions of those programs for adding some speach bubbles or markups? IMHO not necessary.

and why should we have to take those extra steps if we the enduser chose not to? in windows i had picpick setup to capture screenshots. it was great to have windows open picpick after i pressed the print screen button so i could edit the image right then and there before saving it.

I know all Krita, Gimp, KolourPaint software, so having a native system option would be much more practical than opening a second software to do so would be a good option for new KDE users.
