Right now, Dolphin creates two types of previews for directories: when the directory contains multiple files with a thumbnail, it will display a 2x2 preview grid with up to 4 thumbnails. If there is a single file in the directory with a thumbnail, it will put that thumbnail on top of the directory icon.
- I'd like the option for Dolphin to also obey the "folder.jpg" convention: if there is a picture named "folder.jpg" in the directory, that picture will be used for a single thumbnail, even if other files with thumbnails are present in the directory. - It would also be nice to have an option to turn on/off the current feature that randomly slants folder thumbnails, so they can be a little larger and fill more of the available space. - It would be nice to have a choice between different preview grids for multi-thumbnail review, say to also have 3x3 or even 4x4 for large/high DPI screens. Or perhaps this could be automatically changed when you raise the icon size. |

In my opinion, best option is animate slide effect of thumbnail. We display four first, but since 4 seconds pass, we show previews of other four files.
