I don't known text-to-speech solution, which allowing me to change position in stream, etc. I use espeak to learn (when I go to sleep, I ran espeak to read text file and run czekacz - program, which turn of my computer in some conditions and listen for response from my Android device). But I should write about topic, correct?
So idea is to add text-to-speech solution to dragon player. Use cases: 1. I can play text file, so I can go back in stream, when I need repeat part of track 2. I can download translation file of movie and order dragon player to read it, when I play that movie,

erm, I don't think you realize how complex a text-to-speech implementation would be, and Dragonplayer is definitely the wrong application to use this for.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

I see. There's no chance to use some opensource tool and add calculating information about current position in text? Then dragon player could spawn it in new process and in pipe get information about current letter.

Jovie is a currently unmaintained KDE application for text to speech. It has not been maintained in a while,

Ok. I don't known much about programming and speech generating, so I won't realize this idea. If Joovie will have maintainer, I were (maybe) wrote code and send patch to implement described feature, but someone must give grade/look at this patch (and help, of course).
I will wait. PS: Isn't KDE use orca?

Orca is a screen reader for Gnome...

Why not use document viewer application like Okular? It can read selected text, one page or the whole document.

Because, it don't allow to change position in stream. If I had to read page by page or select text, click to read it and again, this doesn't make sense! Imagine I order Dragon Player to read text, go doing other thing (like preparing dinner) and listen. I can control Dragon Player by KDE Connect.

IF that were true... then why does it not do so (by default)? it's an available option in the Tools menu but on my version of Neon I see that for Okular's Settings... there is no speech engine defined what should that be? (surely not Orca?)
