I've been using KDE (Kubuntu 19.10) for a few days. IMO, the desktop icons have a little too much space between them. I'd like to condense them without reducing their size.
I googled about this and have seen others mention it too. I saw one solution to edit FolderView.qml and adjust the return value functions cellwidth & cellheight. (I saw another mention that it should be moved to the same directory structure in ~/.local/share .). But, those functions have changed since that example was posted. It's not as clear if it still works, how it should be modified, etc. (I haven't tried it.). With all the settings KDE has, it would be nice if there were a desktop-icon-margin adjustment (as a percentage?). It could be another function in that file which both those (width & height) functions call upon return to apply the user-defined +/- amount. It seems like that would be fairly simple, and would fit with KDE's generous amount of settings. |
