Suppose you want to open an image in gimp; the user should be able to paste a URL of an image in the open file dialog and open it directly. Windows 7 did this 10 years ago by downloading the contents of the url in a temporary file and opening it - it was such a helpful feature.
Also, I'd be really grateful if someone points me to the open file dialog repository, I would like to implement this for my own, in case this isn't approved. |

And how exactly is this relevant to KDE? GIMP is a GTK application...

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

The open file dialog is part of KDE, - gimp was just an example. Did you not read my three sentece post? |
