Currently, we have two separate plasmoids. If we integrate both, we will reduce space on panels and allow to fast switching. User will select desktop/activity and next activity/desktop. User will select in settings, which switcher will be prior.

I imagine it could work in this way: user move mouse above activity/virtual desktop switcher and desktop/activity switcher is displayed near. User can now switch activity or virtual desktop (or both). Take in mind activity switcher does not shown previews, only name of activity.
