Plasma5 should monitor usage of removable media (open file descriptions related to files on media by some programs). When there is no program, which use mounted media, KDE could display notification allowing to quick unmount this media.

Also, add to device notifier list of programs, which use mounted media.

Possible, some might find it practical.
But on the other hand... that action takes only two clicks anyway: click the icon in the docker and then the unmount icon.

So in the end it is a question of whether this is really worth it or whether it only adds complexity and confusion.

I thought rather about accidentally removing USB media (for example). Other example could be floopy disk. To solve this problem, we could inform user there's no program uses this media. Best could be showing message, so user will wait for message instead performing any action before unmounting,.

And how would you define the state of "no program uses this media"?
That is a non-trivial question. Not all applications have a persistent process that keeps it working directory inside a specific location on the file system.

The topic is suggest to unmount media, not automatically unmount.
User must travel the same path as when he/she decided to unmount media.
