There's an excellent plasma widget called event calendar(https://store.kde.org/p/998901/). Which has cool features(weather, timer), is better looking, integrates with google flawlessly( to a degree) and is generally used by everyone using KDE.
So why not go ahead and make that the default( at least the front-end)[/idea]? Why have tons of users download a widget as 'default'? Also, anyone will use the Event calendar+ Google over Korganiser using that horrible, RAM-munching mess of Akonadi. Thoughts? |

That is typically the kind of decision a distribution should take. Many distributions do customize by changing the widgets, why not the Event Calendar
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it possible for a distro ( Say Manjaro) to integrate Event calendar with Korganiser? Don't think so. |

Then maybe rephrase your idea, because that is not what you requested...

Sorry, I thought making Event calendar default would automatically imply implementing Korganiser integration. Not much use of a calendar widget if can't work with the organiser app is it?

......which would mean Akonadi integration, correct?
