According to https://news.itsfoss.com/kde-2022/ KDE is to "replace the X11 session completely with Wayland" this year. That worries me because I rely on X11 features like ssh-forwarding and cross-user access all the time, and I'm not convinced Wayland will ever operate in that simple client-server manner.
If it is true KDE plans to ditch support for X11, please reconsider, otherwise some of us will have to abandon KDE/Plasma and move to something else. First the Cube, now this. |

That article is a bit incorrect. Definitely misquoted what was said.
Read the actual source: https://pointieststick.com/2022/01/03/k ... -for-2022/ (emphasis added by me):
Xorg ain't going away any time soon, and neither is Plasma's or distro-level support for it.

Thanks for clarifying. I had read Nate's blog before I posted and it did look as if he was writing about his own everyday use needs rather than KDE's future policy, but I wanted that confirmed. I appreciate you're not an authority, just another user, but it's good to see others read the blog much as I do.
Maybe someone who has real authority within KDE can confirm and we can lay this rumour to rest. |

Really? Claydoh has as much authority as any other KDE member has. Take his post for accurate, else mail Nate directly if you don't trust us KDE members.

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
