its not hard to make a stick frm iso and boot it, that is IF you can boot to usb or have an bios and screen to begin with. but how do you start? and how do you safely dualboot to test if the distro to see for example if it has needed (wifi/display/sound/fingerprint/etc..) drivers to get a net install up and running if you dont have ethernet port like on mobile hardware.

but even for the seasoned linux user, how do you wipe a (lg/samsnung/etc) smartTv tizen and completly replace it with opensouce firmware and build things like KDEbigscreen in that small DOM/ROM/RAM space.

it would be nice to have a "rubber ducky" app or small distro you can plug in with a payload to scan the hardware VID/PID and all the juicy specs, find you details about the upgradebility and more, so you can cutombuild build a kde distro with those specs, automated or with the help of a community database with the latest versions your hardware can support.

because lets face, we use linux (at home) to get the most of older hardware, replace an old win7 box or give a routeror phone a new lease of live with routerOS or pfsense and openwrt and armbian kdemobile and such.

Sorry, but out of our range, this needs to be done by distributions.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
