There wasn't enough room in the title for the full name, but I was reffering to the Qt Digital Advertising Platform. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but judging by this, I think KDE could use it to generate revenue. The ads could be disabled in the settings, or maybe KDE could make a custom ads widget with an [X] and some other things. The only issue I can see is that it may require KDE e.V. to change it's stance as a non-profit, but I don't think it will since there are many non-profits in europe who still make millions of dollars. Any thoughts?
(PS: This is a second account I've created since I can't log my first one. I'm signed into the account on another device though, so I'll open it later and change the password so I can respond to replies using that one. The profile picture has patric on it) |

Is KDE in urgend need of funding? To me it looks like it works.
Sure, a non profit organization always has to invest effort into funding. But unless a specific situation is pointed out that would justify such thoughts I am sceptical. Why ruin a perfectly fine service, product and site with ads? |
