[Krunner] Favorites runner

Fri Mar 20, 2009 9:08 pm
krunner is very useful for launching applications quickly. However, you have to type in the name of the program even to get commonly-used programs. This is useful for programs that you don't use very often, but not as useful when you have a small set of programs you launch often. For instance I have to type three characters to get firefox. There is no way to have easily access a list of common applications.

At least when my current version of krunner opens, there is just an input area. It has nothing in it until you start typing in the text box. My idea is that there is a runner, one you could turn on or off, that displays your list of favorites from the application launcher before you type anything. So the moment you launch krunner, you have icons you can click for your favorite applications. If you start typing, these immediately disappear. If you clear the text box, they appear again. I am not sure whether it should be on or off by default, but I think it would be very useful to have. It makes krunner useful the moment it is launched.
