I'm no certain what the tabs on the Kickoff menu are called correctly but I would
like the option to remove the Recently used tab and I'm sure other people
would like to do similar things.

What I propose is that in Kickoff's settings there should be a list of tabs available
made in the same manner as the dialogues used to configure toolbars so that
users can have the tabs that they will actually use in the order they will use them in.
Possibly even an option for users to create their own custom tabs.

Also, it is good idea to give the user an option to re-order the tabs.

That's what I meant by "In the order they will use them in".
Sorry if my way of expressing things is to idiosyncratic for you but my
brain isn't structures in the normal manner.

Hm, but the Kickoff needs approx the width of the five tabs. So this not a way to save space (and it's not necessary). In fact I don't see a problem with tabs I don't use daily.

So for me it would be only usefull if there were more tabs I could choose. For example more favorite tabs the user can create: One for work, for kde dev and something like that.

Reordering would make it look "more complete", but thats nothing important for me.

This would be a great customization!

The inability to hide tabs has always been one of my pet peeves about Kickoff, this is much appreciated

Proudly dual-booting openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.3 and Windows Vista on a Toshiba A205-S4577 since July 2007.

I have never once used the recently used tab, or even the leave tab (I use the lock/logout plasmoid). Having the OPTION to get rid of these tabs sounds like a great idea.
