i'm quite used to have alias names for websites (opera) and directories (directory opus on windows). where you can have a short and distinctive name for a directory which you can type in the addressbar. furthermore as far as the application is able to resolve the alias unambigiously it takes you to this directory without the need to type the whole alias.

If I understand it correctly, you can use Web Shortcuts for that.
EDIT: Sorry, I missed that you were talking about Dolphin. You can only do that in Konqueror...
