I would like to see integration into kde of the applications most often used for scientific works. In my opinion, they are, first LyX (for document preparation), followed by Maxima (for automatic symbolic computation), Xfig (for pictures), Gnuplot (for graphs).

I would especially appreciate kpart for lyx, allowing lyx math text to be embedded into konqueror.

Getting those features into KOffice would be a more kde-oriented task; the GSoC proposal to work on the kformula component is a big one.

I'm afraid that koffice, which is certainly a well done office suite, will never meet the very special requirements of a scientific workplace, especially when it comes to math-intensive subjects like math or physics. KWord for example IMHO was never intended to be a competitor to LaTeX, kcalc never designed to compete with computer algebra systems. Typical office suite users seldom need to solve sets of partial differential equations and in most cases don't need the full power of a TeX system to typeset mathematical formulas in all it's beauty (and complexity).

I think what the OP wants is something like a KDE Version of TeXmacs. Maybe this idea should be combined with this one (KEdu Math)

Maybe I didn't understand you, but a friend of me developed a methode to mix latex and python scientific.
So you can calculate (with units) by using python scientific and writh by using latex.

I also whant to integrate pstricks so you can also draw and integrate a methode to make a gui app with the flexible script file but my friend have no time and I'm no coder.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/peng/

When anyone was interest I'd like to help.

There are sevearl programs that are able to produce LaTeX output, it's more or less a no-go for a serious scientific program not being able to export in LaTeX notation. But if I understand the idea right the original poster wanted to merge several common scientific programs to a scientific office with KDE integration. "zander" suggested koffice being the right place for it, with which I do not agree.

BTW: Although pstricks is a really fine package, you should be careful considering if you use it since you lose the option to use pdflatex, and thereby have to live with font and other issues (no hyperlinks for example) when converting your LaTeX document via dvipdf or pspdf to PDF. There is just the commercial VTeX which can produce a "native" PDF from a tex source file even if it uses the pstricks macro packages.
