Terminal is very handy when handling mass of information or runnin scripts. Only downside is that numeruous options are hard to remember and easy to misspell.
I was thinking if console commands consisted blocks of commands, that can be drawn into the execution line. Different kind of colour woud make it easy to put commands in right order even for noobs. If mouse is taken over block it would show the information from man page. Of course old way of typing must be possible because it's much faster when writing short commands. Have you tried bash autocompletion? It works wonders for me.

This is typically handled by the shell... and on that note, have you looked at fish? It has much of the coloring options you want.
