What I miss most about the network manager is the ability to see status of the interfaces. Everytime I want to know the ip-address of my computer I have to fire up a terminal and enter /sbin/ifconfig.
Solution 1: The ip/gateway/other info could be displayed in the tooltip of the application icon. Solution 2: Status-dialog accessible through the context-menu. |

their is a new plasmoid for that coming up very soon
(http://www.kdedevelopers.org/node/3713) and you can always use kde3 KNetworkManager until then. (http://en.opensuse.org/Projects/KNetworkManager) |

The tooltip displays ip address now.

To be more precise, the tooltips you get when you hover over devices in the context menu. So right click the icon and hover over the device which you are interested in. Which information is displayed in the tooltip and in which order can actually be configured.
