Hi!
I think it would be nice to be able to edit Textareas on website inside the KDE Editor-Component. It is simply more comfortable than a simple Text-Input, when you want to write long texts.
For example you could do:
-Load and Save
-Searching/Replacing
-Syntax-Highlighting
-Bookmarking Lines
...
It would be a really new feature in Konqueror. ;)

So what instead of posting this comment in what a forums provides me I would be posting it in Kate?

You would send the information in the same way. ;)
The text is written in Kate. The result is normally sent via Http to forum or anything else.

For Firefox someone started to write an add-on to modify Textareas with a text-editor. But the development was not continued. With KParts Konqueror has better possibilities.

Agreed. Kate Kpart would be really nice as it highlights html code. And if this would be implemented it would be logical that it would highlight bb code to.

There is already a Wiki-Code-Highlighter and BBCodes are quite simple.
There could be rules for using BB or Wiki.

I agree that BBCodes are simple, but it would be nice to see them highlighted.
I didn't know about Wiki-Code-Highlighter. That's cool.
Now I really hope that this gets implemented, even though I'm not participating in any Wiki.

Hey!
Kate->Extras->Highlighting->Markup->MediaWiki ;)
HTML is of course an existing feature.
BBCode-Highlighting could work like XML-Highlighting (Tags are Black). Maybe some very common Tags like url, b, i, u could get their own colors.

Ivan Cukic just blogged about a Firefox extension that does this. http://ivan.fomentgroup.org/blog/2009/0 ... -all-text/

Would be a great feature!

Edited to include tag. Now Title makes perfect sense.
