Right click on the pager and you can select Pager Settings. This is great. One of the options comes up is the Keyboard Setting, which is to activate the pager. Wonderful. But why not include the keyboard settings particular to the pager, like the shortcuts to select different desktops?
(Those are available in a totally non-intuitive location that I always have to search endlessly for. Why not make them EASY to find?)

This is because the change virtual desktops keyboard shortcut is not handled by Plasma, it is handled by KWin.

Apologies for the delay in approving this idea.

since the pager is the intuitive place to go to set up desktop hotkeys, perhaps one solution may be to shortcut the configurability of the kwin desktop keyboard shortcuts from within the pager?
inc whatever would make sense considering if someone were to use the pager but something different than kwin (presuming thats even possible to still use the pager in such circumstances), be it just a note advising it only works with kwin, or a more robust solution involving feeding the shortcuts through to whatever does handle it. *scratches head, wondering if that's as clear as it can be* |
