mods must think i'm a post ***** from this spat today... but i've finally reached the last idea on my notepad.
transparent & ingore inputs. there are times when it would be really advantageous to have information presented over whatever's being currently worked on without it needing constant active window management by the user. perhaps implimentable by a simple inclusion in the titlebar's lefthand menu buton of a couple options. one option adjustable for transparency, one for toggling ignore-inputs. ...and regaining control / switching off ignore inputs from taskbar and/or keyboard shortcut. to be clear, when i say "ignore inputs", any inputs that are done over the transparented/ignored window continue to behave as if the window were not there, and act instead on whatever is visable behind the transparency, ie, the next window down in the stacking window manager. presumably, if transparency is off, the ignore would automatically toggle off, because, frankly, i cant see a use for being able to click on a window you cant see, obscured by a fully visable window you cant use. idk if "that's impossible" or if already implimented somehow somewhere, or completely not a kde thing (reserved for compositers?), but damnit, i gotta get that idea out there. not to mention... it's just really nice if these things are a bit more "built-in" rather than having to run compiz / metisse just to get one feature to enhance productivity/workflow. ~****! i just learn how to add tags here, and i cant think what tags would be appropriate... on my last thread of the day too. ah well, good has come from the days postings. many thanks to the mods and admin here, great work guys. much appreciated.~
