My idea it is that: it would be great if every window app could be turned (u know compiz plug in who does that ? like Reason dj on windows when press tab) and behind we have some out and in "jack" to link to other app:
audio out, audio in, video out, video in, stout stinput .... that would be great in my opinion cause it let the user to be free to mix app without know programming ... i hope what i write is understanded (my english is terrible) and that someone like it. i know it is not easy to develop and maybe need to hack qt code or something like that but i think it would be very usefull and take kde years over other desktop ... bye and thanks for attenction

So, on the more technical side of things this would be something with Phonon if you're redirecting audio/video, right? Or Access to program's QT Slots and Signals with a drag and drop interface?
It's a really interesting idea, just not sure where it fits, or how easy it'd be. |

ok u got what i mean ... something like a visual pipe
By style side i think that a look like reason http://stuff.tv/csfiles/blogs/music/reason.jpg could be a good solution ( wire ) i think too that phonon could do a lot of the "dirty" work and would be good if support that feture.

A visual and audio pipe o_o ! Now this is an idea !
And you know what ? I came here to propose something like this. I would like KDE to integrate an utils allowing us to choose the volume of every application manually... And all this stuff would be working with Kwin in order to offer more features, like : => The application which has focus get more volume than the others. => One desktop, one sound output (you can ear only the sound of the applications which are in the virtual desktop your using). It would be pretty awesome to get the standard output of a program to be written on a file of our choice as we ask it... I would love some features like that ! |

it is nice ear other people like that idea ... hope some good developer love it too
i'm thinking about use this feature not only with audio and video but with input and output in general ... (and maybe stream it ... ) I like also your idea about audio and focus and desktop area ... (someone implement something like it 4 gnome and pulseaudio)
