I think KDE should launch a program something like Friend of GNOME http://www.gnome.org/friends/.
And even add option to send T-shirts, clothes, caps, stickers and many other KDE Goodies providing wide range of friend options..
This would help in economic strengthening of the KDE which i think directly affects the whole development process.

But I do generally agree. KDE could have something like adopt a Hacker and similar.

The KDE e.V. is currently working on getting the supporting membership [1] more attractive for individuals.

Cheers,

Nokia never wants to be a single sponsor. :D There is always a sponsoring company belongig to Nokia.
It is the same with FSF.

Edit:
In the list of patrons you should replace Trolltech by something like "Qt Software/Trolltech" or "Qt Software (formerly Trolltech)".
