implement GSM presets, just like in Gnome's Network Manager there are Gsm (GSM/3G) presets from all over the world. That's very useful for mobile notebook/netbook users. Each time you switch to a sim-card from a different provider, you have to change settings,input new data. In gnome NM it's just two or three clicks...

Actually the settings can be polled from the modem. A lot of operators don't provide the necessary settings in obvious places so getting such a modem to work with KDE correctly is a real pain. Haven't managed to get mine working yet with kde4 network manager. Gnome and wvdial do work. Main reason not switching to kde4 at the moment.
