I think it would be very useful if plasma had an applet that allowed you to display the process list table from ksysguard, the KDE system monitor program. You would probably be able to set the sort options, the layout (there are several layouts in ksysguard), filters by user, the number of processes to show (or set it to show as many as possible given the size of the plasmoid), and the update period. It would also give you the option to search for individual processes and kill specific processes. On the desktop it would just show the list, on the panel it would have a button that popped up the list.

I'm surprised this doesn't already exist as a plasmoid, sounds like a natural extension from the system monitor idea.
