Let Kmail check if there is a valid connection to the internet before fetching mails.

It is very annoying if you set checking for new mails every 5 minutes and there is no connection. If you have more than one mailadresse you get multiple error messages every 5 minutes.

But not only use kdenetworkmanager, because many people use different tools. me for example use wcid manager.

I would like to know if my mail isn't being fetched. Just sitting there quiet not fetching my mail would make me :-@

What about: Warn just the first time a server is unreachable instead of every time?

I've got 5 mailboxes that get checked...

At least it no longer seems to yell at me if it can't download the remote calendars, which is good.

I`ve the same problem if I let KMail start automatically. It takes more time to connect to my wlan then KMail needs to start. So KMail is looking for my Mails but there isn`t yet a connection and he gives me an annoying message. So KMail should begin with looking after my mails not until I`ve got a connection.

A Solid Network backend for wicd is coming: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-core-devel& ... 413835&w=2

Nice example how having an abstraction like Solid helps accomodate to different setups.
