It would be greatly appreciated if powerdevil could display the following information:
Battery Health (ratio to last full charge to designed capacity) Time remaining Energy consumption Especially, I would love to have the battery health displayed. |

The battery plasmoid is already capable of displaying the time remaining. Not sure if the average user would be interested in power consumption or battery health figures, or be able to understand them though....

Well, if nothing else, I do believe that battery health would be useful information. Maybe consumption is stretching it. The reason I say this is because my friends sometimes talk about their battery life degrading, and I know that IBM and Apple battery managers show it too. It's not that important of a feature, but it would be nice.

If its possible to display information about the battery itself like manufacturer, model number, age that would be great. I know of a Windows utility that could do it, so at least with some systems that information is available.
Proudly dual-booting openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.3 and Windows Vista on a Toshiba A205-S4577 since July 2007.

If somebody points me to something that lets me retrieve those information, I can try adding them

I've already requested it on bugs.kde.org here https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=182940 .I think it should be implemented because also Windows 7 will show the health of the battery by default.Remaining time is an important feature too.

I know only that Gnome battery applet already shows it...maybe you could read the source code of the applet and try understanding where retrieve this infos. Can you add also an option for selecting the cpu frequency directly????Sometimes you just want the lowest frequency for downloading or the highest for playing games! |
