I think dolphin tabs could be more usable, for this, I think should exist a option to use just one instance of dolphin, and each time we click to open it, it will open it in a new tab in same window. It's like in firefox, that each link open in a new tab, and not in a new window.
thanks

That's my idea. It could be a option, it's great cause it will economize performance (won't open new window), and could save some time in some actions, like drag and drop in another folder than that already opened. Single window is the default mode, and I hope that will continue cause most of people are habituate with this. But in future, who knows...

Vote.
2016. Question is still open. I need option "Open new windows in new tabs" too. Like browser, like directory opus for win. |

This would improve my productivity considerably. I pretty often find myself shuffling between multiple dolphin instances that I never wanted. I try to keep my folders in one window as tabs, but no matter what I end up with multiple instances opened indirectly. Usually when using the "open parent folder" feature, present in most IDEs ecc, but also from links. The feature is already implemented in Kate and I find it very natural this way.
