KDE4 has a lot of possibilities when it comes to design, and it would be nice to get some really fresh ideas in so that with next version, there would be 3-10 completely different new styles to choose from. I know there is work being done on this, but I found a very nice list of icon designs that could be used as a starting point to develop full blown designs for KDE4. Why not contact the designers and ask them?

i love those icons, especially HydroPRO v2, it would look good for a dark-themed desktop, i'm just not sure if they will create icons for kde without pay, but it's not bad to try,

One of my favourites is the made of Wood icons. With a dark grey theme, it would almost inspire me to get a case mod done to have the whole computer done in wood
Seriously, I think they should be asked. Most of the icons there can be used to a certain degree for free, so they might already be familiar with the open and free ideas. Definitely a lot of very talented artists!

Unfortunately, I am not even close to any of the designers in that list. On a good day, I am a decent photographer, but a lot more skill than that is needed in designing. But asking these designers to do it would be good. Please remember to vote this suggestion up.
