[Plasma] Per-activity themes

Sun Apr 26, 2009 6:31 pm
Currently when you set a theme it applies to your entire user account. I think it would be nice if you also had the ability to set the theme on a per-activity basis. So the current "Desktop theme" drop-down would be re-labelled to something like "Global desktop theme", while checking a check box below it for "use a different theme for this activity" would make a second drop-down available that would allow you to set the theme for just that activity.

I do not believe this is possible given the current Plasma architecture, and would require major changes to support. In addition, the panels are independent of the activities.

This would only change widgets in the desktop containment, the panel would still use the global theme. As for the difficulty, I do not know.
