Idea:
Ability to create a group of menu using plasma widget The idea is to have a plasma menu widget where we can place some program based on our grouping category, for example you want to group software which are using at the office. Hope the image below can describe better: 1. Closed state 2. We select graphics group The appearance can be like above or just classic menu. Search box may be not needed. To add menu item, may be using something like configuration dialog. |

I'm not sure whether I understood you correctly, but if you just need a list of applications (custom or a folder from the menu), you can use Folder View, Lancelot Part... and there is something at kde-look, but I can't remember what its called.

How about this?
Lets call [i] Favorites/ Applications / Computer / History / Leave [i] as tabs Since we have large screens, we could widen kicker and fit more tabs [i] Favorites/ Tab1 / Applications / Tab 2/ Computer / History / Leave [i] + using Lancelot part place them on panel. Using Folder view is possible, but not so polished and user friendly way |

Sorry but I don't understand what you meant by the last post. You want multiple groups in one popup?
If you just want what you posted in the screenshot, even Folder View is sufficient (at least the version in trunk - it shows a popup list when placed onto the panel) |

the op wants to have current kicker application submenus (graphics, games, ...) placed in the panel. i suppose you, mobilehunter, want to be able to create such submenus yourself as well.
lukas wants to be able to create additional, user made, categories in kicker. does it sound about right?

When i told this idea to my mac os X user friend.
He showed me the overflow app of mac, i donot know the exact name. But it almost like i want. There is a widget at the panel. If you click that widget it will display something like tab. The tab items can have title like this: - 'My creative programs' - 'Rejoice apps' - etc If we clicked one of the tab item, it will display all the apps you have put inside each grouping tab. But for this mode it will be two steps. Selecting the grouping tab item, then select your program. I donot know if lancelot part can do this. So i will have many lancelot part with custom icon, then each part contain my favorite menu under certain grouping categories. Thanks |

This is what can be done with L Parts. And note that almost exactly the same thing can be done with the FolderView (at least the trunk version*)
* you should wait for 4.3 for L Part also since it had some very important fixes since 4.2. |
