[Dolphin] Calculate directory size

Mon May 04, 2009 4:49 pm
1. Okay, I want ability to calculate directory size without popping up new window with info (alt+enter). With "space" key this would be great.
2. Ability to specify for each directory to:
-calculate directory sizes in this dir only
-calculate directory sizes in this dir and in all sub-dirs
-calc dirs in real time/ or only when HDD is idle (or somehow with load priority)

Might be as a optional Recursive count button in toolbar near preview and split buttons?

I remember reading here on the forums that this wasn't already present by default in details view because it slowed networks down. But triggering it on demand is a good idea.

Proudly dual-booting openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.3 and Windows Vista on a Toshiba A205-S4577 since July 2007.

additionally to the size i'd like to see a relative size of entries in a directory, so that you can sort by this size to see the biggest on top. basically it's the same as the size, it is however easier to spot.

Sorry guys,
and what do you think about an integration with filelight (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/fi ... tent=99561) like in konqueror?
At the moment with dolphin I can use filelight by right clicking on a folder then "Open with -> filelight", why don't add filelight like a new view mode in dolphin?

or even better: file size view from konqueror (and then with an right click option to delete again)
