In a discussion in Nuno's blog about the new Icons for KMix I mentioned the idea of adding a meter that shows the sound level of each Channel to KMix. I am reposting this idea so it wont get lost.

The idea is to add a vertical bar next to each channel that shows the level of the incoming signal (or the difference to 0 dB FS) similar to those found on good mixing desks and in DAW's. This would not only be nice eye candy but a usability improvement as well. It is somehow intuitive and self explaining and the user wouldn't have to open each channel separately to see/hear if a signal is coming in.
