Currently in Marble you can zoom in and out and move around the globe. You cannot change your angle, however. For instance you can not rotate the globe so it is no longer oriented in a North/South manner (something that could be controlled with a circular dial), nor can you make it so you are not looking straight down at the ground (so instance you cannot look out over the horizon). Although it is not as good with a flat globe as one with depth, I still think these would both be nice features to have.

This is a planned feature on our TODO. I want to have this in Marble until our 1.0 release.
Can't be done with our software renderer. It's planned for the 3D-OpenGL view that we'll hopefully start to code soon after Marble 0.8 is released. So yes, it will be there (and maybe even for Marble 1.0) but it's not a primary focus. |
