The button icons only accepts the Kickoff, the format is square, it would be good for the possibility of using other formats, button, rectangular, a small change, which allows creation of more elaborate designs.
The KBFX for KDE3 was created precisely to allow the use of rectangular buttons for Kmenu therefore the demand for this type of design is great, since the success it was KBFX.

You can leave some empty space in top and bottom of the icon and it will be rectangular
Or am I wrong? |

Style XP is not
It is freedom of choice. Not be compulsory to use the image square. |

The problem with the empty space above and below is that the empty space will still be seen as part of the button by plasma, leading to a button that is much thinner than the panel it is in. It will also mean you can click on the empty space.

I vas just finking about the same. This could be possible if it is possible to set up negative margins for panel plasmoids, otherwise you will need to modify plasma theme to integrate this nicely |

I think it's a freedom of choice too. Anyone could use what prefer.
The retangular form is more visible, practical and more beautiful. I liked this idea, could be done. |

I find it hard, coming from Windows with a rectangular Star button so so many years, to suddenly be asked to click on a square button. Squares are "easier to miss" than rectangles

1 year after kickoff and did not show improvement, even as we enter a different button.
Like other basic functions such as support Obex the Dolphin does not work. Sad to see KDE4 so long after the release has to be so much worse KDE3.5.10. |
