Brainstorming is a group creativity technique designed to generate a large number of ideas for the solution of a problem. [..] ...and improving team work... Ground Rules
Whole article about Brainstorming is here Please read it before continuing discussion. -------------------------------------------- Definition: Problem - a puzzle or question set for solving With all the respect, current forum-based platform for brainstorming ins not the best solution So the problems The number 1 problem, is that the key part of brainstorming are QUANTITY of the ideas. This means, that for 1 problem we SHOULD have 8-108+ ideas (now not talcking about quality of them) This means, that if we have 100 problems (and KDE much more), this will lead to at least 1000 threads, even with tagging system or help from google it still would be not an easy task to deal with. As number 2 problem I see, is that the solution is positioned above the problem. In some cases we even create a problem just to get some solution implemented. Its wrong way to do things. One of possible solutions with having as least as possible modifications could be
Stage one 1. User starts a problem thread. In the first thread he/she describes the problem 2. In the second post he writes what solution he suggests 3. All the rest The first post in problem thread could be wikipedia-style text - everyone? is allowed to edit text. It should contain the description of the problem and short The vote will be for improving bookmark listing and the idea will be the last and the most liked by all discussion members. Unless this will turn into divide and conquer method, where basically the same ideas (with only minor differences in the end) will have to fight again each other. Its pointless. Of course, if the came up to 2 entirely different ideas, they should be separated, but only then. |
