In the file associations module, the only way to change the preference of applications for a given file type is using up and down arrows. This is cumbersome, especially for large lists. You should be able to drag items in the list to re-order them like you can in pretty much every other list in KDE.

File association system should be remade entirely with drag&drop krunner, default/ suggested apps listing/ asociation pem mime-types etc.

But its not essential problem for kde, so might by it could wait for some time :)

Anyway, in my opinion, there should be one thread, there users and devs could create one and single the best as we can mockup, that could turn into reality. Especially, when we cant have two file association menus.

That is not how brainstorm works, as I understand it. There is no single "overhaul the file associations module" thread, for instance. Each specific, independent idea for that file associations module should have its own thread, so users can discuss and vote on each idea independently. The final goal is to figure out which ones are considered the best by forum members and then submit those ideas to developers. We can't do that if a bunch of different ideas are all intermingled in a single thread.

Although if I am wrong, another moderator please correct me.
