One interesting thing I saw in one of the mouse configuration tools somewhere was a little icon that allows you to test your mouse settings and I think it would be very useful. In the system settings mouse "advanced" tab you have a place to set pointer threshold, double click interval, drag start time, drag start distance, and others. What I propose is, in the blank space to the right, there is a little dummy icon that you can interact with to test these settings. So for instance if you double-click on it the icon changes, allowing you to test your double-click settings. You can drag it, allowing you to test your drag settings (when you let go it jumps right back to its original location). Currently you just sort of have to guess as to whether the setting work for you, or have a file manager open that you can use to test with.

I really like this idea. This would really enhance the "usability" of the mouse settings:
Currently you have to apply the changes and reopen a window to test them. This is quite tiring, imho. A simple click on a tab which contains your mentioned idea, would be by far superior pano

It wouldn't even have to be a separate tab, there is a big blank space on the "advanced" tab where you could put it. That is the same tab as all of the relevant settings.
