In kde 4 the mouse wheel is used extensively in window management. It is not used, however, in the present windows plugin. I think this is a waste of a good button. Since using the mouse wheel on the desktop changes the desktop, and since the desktop is visible in present windows, I think a similar behavior would make sense. So my idea is that when you use the mouse wheel in present windows mode, it switches which desktop you see the windows of. It remains in present windows mode, it simply presents the windows of the next or previous desktop (probably using the default desktop switching effect).

another +1 from me (you seem to have a lot of great ideas :-D), with the same reason, as in your other idea about the "fast activity switching":
It would enhance the "consistency" of KDEs mouse wheel behaviour.
