Hi!
There is a KPart and it has some Shortcuts. Some of them are also available in the embedding application. For example Konqueror provides ctrl+f and the editor-component provides ctrl+f. When you press ctrl+f, the editor-action should be invoked. But KParts should also look for free shortcuts for Konqueror. For example alt+f, meta+f, ctrl+shift+f, ctrl+alt+f... could be candidates. The first free shortcut should be used for the parent application. When there is no such free shortcut, the shortcut in the parent application should be disabled. The User |

I would recommend that the loaded KPart simply overrides the applications shortcuts.

I have said so.
First the KPart should overwrite. Then the parent could look for new shortcuts. Not vice-versa. |
