Dolphin should have "play all" in folders containing music

Whenever we enter a folder containing a lot of music/audio files ,in dolphin , there should have an option like 'play all' at the right pane, when clicked on that, the default music player should be invoked and begin playing the music/audio files in that folder. All the other files in the folder should queue up in the play list . For showing this option(play all), the music files need not be selected. Similar to this ,if the folder have photos in majority, the option should be like, slideshow all which should create a slide show of the photos . There features are already present in windows explorer since windows xp

What if there many music an pictures in one folder?
Why not to put this option under "Information toolbar" and choose/show corresponding action depending on item selected/hovered. There could even be a drop down list - play all, play this queue all, queue this etc  How about this? |

Its better showing all the options on the information toolbar than showing a drop down menu . If there are music and pictures, more than one option can be shown like - 'play all' , 'queue all' , 'slideshow all','slideshow this' . If we click on 'play all' or 'queue all' music files will be played or queued . If we click on 'slideshow all' or 'slideshow this', pictures will be slide showed. If none of the files are selected, 'play this' and 'slide show this' should not be shown

Both ways are good,
Your way is definitely better in maximized windows with files, that has not much meta data, but in small screens (netbooks etc) or for files with a lot meta data this would be just a wasted space. The best would be to automatic detection of lets say slide bar, if there is no slide, show all options, is is - just most recent used o just a drop down. |
