right now when i want to insert a string from klipper, i have to hit the shortcut to show klipper. then i select the item i want to insert (via alt+xxx). but what now? i have to use the mouse and do a middle click into the text field where i want to insert the text. in my opinion this last step is useless. why dont you insert the text automatically at the point of the cursor? at least please make this an option :)

thanks for kde guys!

Well, then you would need to first click on the location where you want to insert it, and then go to the klipper-menu.

this is absolutely intended. i am always in the right place when using klipper. why should i select an item to insert, when i am not in the right place where to insert it? what i want to do is eliminate the hand-move to the mouse.

The problem is, that up to now it was always in the reverse order (select klipper-content, then paste it).

Thus, if it will be changed, users will have multiple false-pastes before they get used to the new way of "klipping" ( ;-) ).

EDIT: just saw that you wrote in your initial poste that it even might be an option. So, if this won't be the default behaviour, I'm fine with this. (as I would never use it ;-) )

and that is a reason why it should be optional. i mean, when you have the endurance to first move to the right position and then paste this would be a really time saver! and i think it is much more logical than the other way round!
humans can learn. with kde4 so much got changed and the people are happy with it!
