Hi,
I am thinking of a notification system for Alarms, Todo's, calendar events, etc. in kdepim that could be integrated with plasma like the "palm pre" notification system. Well, how is it working... If theres an upcomong event you get a passive notification that doesn't break your current work (despite to the popus from kdepim). I think this could be implemented with the passive notifications in kde 4.3 but they should not dissapear without user interaction! The notification should provide the same options like the current popup... But little bit more functionality, and here comes the plasmoid in! We could provide a plasmoid that provides symbols for notifications the user didn't want to change in its state etc. Well its hard to explain, the conclusion of this idea that i do not click "remond me later" oder "dismiss event" etc. i just drag and drop the notification in an area on my panel and it gets to a symbol, so that I could look at it later when I would like to. I think it didn't get clear up to the end, so I will post here a link of the palms system, maybe you can understand my idea than. Palm Pre Notifications System And here a very fast mock-up: [img=http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/1185/mockuph.th.png] |
