By now there is only one Local collection listing files from all you music folders.
This might be enough for users who keeps their files in one place. But for users like me (I keep biggest part of collection on external hdd and just a small part of favorites on laptop hdd, simple because everything can't fit there). My idea is to let users have as many Local collections as they want like: "Local collection title" of /home/Music and /home/User/Music, "External collection title" /media/archive/Music, "Remote collection title" /some/remote/address and /some/other/remot server/ or even "My mp3 player title" Also with virtual collections - merged versions of All or any Local collections. There are 2 points for separation. 1st. External media is not always accessible, so if any collection source is disconnected, whole collection gets disabled and temporary removed from Virtual collection. 2nd. For management. Bu this user could easily move music from one place to another |

This is exactly what I want to see in Amarok. I talked about that with Lydia Pintscher at 'LinuxTag and she said that it just needs somebody to implement this. So all we need is somebody with certain capabilities. Therefore, let's begin the search.
